Postage & Packing:

Rates are calculated based upon Royal Mail First Class for UK delivery and Royal Mail Printed Papers Airmail rates for international orders. They are calculated according to the actual weight of each book plus an allowance for the weight of the packaging. I use Royal Mail Heavier orders may sent out by APC, a very reliable courier service.

July 2016, after several years of changes to the various charges for post, both within the UK but more so for International destinations, the postal charges being generated by the ordering system had been getting out of phase with the actual costs to the business.

The postal charges are now revised to properly reflect the actual costs.

Broadly speaking, this means that the minimum UK P&P charge now stands at £3.25, charges are then better graded up to 2.5kg where the £9.00 maximum kicks in. Apart from the increase of the minimum charge this change has reduced the charges in the 1kg to 2.5 kg range.

Internatonal charges see the biggest change, in the lower weight ranges the prices have gone up a little, but for packages over around 1kg the effect has been a significant reduction in the cost of postage.

Real People:

Despite this automation the whole endeavour is still run by human beings - still just as available as ever by telephone, e-mail or letter, so if you have any queries or questions then please get in touch.

More information:
I pack extremely securely and have not had any books returned to me damaged since I started trading, which is now over 21 years ago.

I endeavour to stock books which I feel are worth owning. In my view, the criterion for judgement of a book's being "worth owning" will be a combination of some or all of the following; quality of reproduction of photographs, print quality, originality of concept, quality of research undertaken by author, sources of information, obscurity of subject, quality of writing, humanity of author, artistic ability of designer, and yes but probably last on the list - price.

Payment Methods:
Using the secure online ordering facility any of the following cards may be used to place an order; Visa, Visa Electron, Mastercard, Maestro, Switch, Solo, and JCB. For those that prefer it Paypal is also a payment option.

Nochex is a bit picky and requires that when you enter your telephone number you do not enter any spaces or special characters, so for example not leave a space between code and number.

Please do not send cash in the post.

If you have any queries, then please do not hesitate to contact me.
