Linn H. Westcott [Publisher: Kalmbach 2000] Softback 72 pages
Reprinted for the 28th time and now having sold in excess of half a million copies, this remains an excellent introduction to and manual of railroad planning. It is very American in its outlook and yet contains much of interest and value to modellers of any other nationality, not least the British market. Attractively drawn and marked out, the plans are drawn onto impressions of scenery, with several full "3D" drawings included.
Robert Downie [Publisher: Kalmbach 2001] Softback 96 pages
11 projects with step by step instructions and general tips and techniques on spray painting models. Although American, the book describes well the various cocktails of chemicals that you might come across, and the practical aspects are generally applicable anyway.
