One of the joys of living near a steam railway, particularly alongside an engine shed, is the presence of smoke and smuts. At lease one resident of Railway Terrace, adjacent to the PB&VMR's terminus station, just off the High Street, has put her washing out far too early. Ilia and Venilia, two of the locomotives of this 3ft gauge section of the railway, are still raising steam for the day and it looks like they are burning old socks!
